Student Expectations
Bring a good attitude and a willingness to work hard.
Attitude:
Positivity is everything! ShowTime focuses on being positive about ourselves and others. Musical theater is hard work and can feel frustrating when we don’t get the results we hope for. Just like learning ballet, how to swim or any other achievement, singing and acting are learned best little by little. When we practice a little each day and come to learn more at ShowTime each week, then our talents and hard work start to take shape and we can see improvement. If you choose to keep doing ShowTime, year after year, you will see amazing results. But none of this can be achieved without a good attitude and hard work. Remember to be patient with yourself and others, as we are all learning and growing at different levels.
Practice:
Students should practice 30 minutes a day 5 days during the week. This includes your vocal practice along with your blocking. We cannot progress without the practice at home.
Folder:
Each Student will receive a folder at their first vocal lesson, these folders will have the necessary tools they need to practice, learn and be successful. Please try to help your child to bring their folder every week.
What to Expect
Students will come to Holly’s house each week for their class, 1513 Rifle Heights Dr.
Classes generally have 3-5 students. We begin our class by warming up our voices and sometimes our bodies. Each student then spends one on one time with Holly focusing on vocals, while the other students meet together to work on theater with our other teachers.
Students will be given a folder where they can keep their music, lyrics, notes and homework. Please try to remember to bring your folder each week to class.
